Do you accept walk-in appointments?

- We are by appointment only. However, you can always make same day appointments if there’s availability. Just call or text 505.485.2346


What days are you open?

- Tuesday-Sunday 9am-7pm


How long does it take to get in for an appointment?

- it is our goal to accommodate our guests the best way we can so when you call we shoot to have openings that same week.


Can I book a curly cut appointment with Jenny this week?

- Jenny currently has a wait list. Just call or text the salon to be added on to that wait list, where you will be contacted when a spot opens up. Due note all Culture Club stylist are curly hair trained by Jenny.


How long do hair services take?

- Haircuts take 1-2 hours. Hair color & extensions can take 2-6 hours. always ask your stylist ahead of time for a time estimate.


What can I bring to my appointment?

- For longer appointments feel free to bring snacks and entertainment such as a book, laptop or headphones. We provide water, coffee and tea.


Do I come in with my hair clean or dirty?

- Always come in with clean hair or hair thats no more than 3 days dirty. It is also helpful to come in with your hair worn down and untangled.

Can just book an appointment even if I’m not sure what I want to do with hair?

- If you know you need your hair done but you're unsure what to do, try scheduling a haircut with a color consultation so you can discuss options with your stylist.


What can I expect during my appointment as a first time client?

- As you walk in you’ll be greeted by a CC team member. There’s a lobby area with seating and drinks. Expect to be in the salon extra time to discuss with your stylist your goals and how to reach them together. after your consultation you’ll move forward to the service and most services end with a styled blow dry.


Why does Balayage take so long?

- Balayage is a customized highlighting technique used to mimic a natural appearance. So this requires more attention to detail during the application process. Always discuss with your stylist an estimated time frame prior to your appointment if you have concerns.


How do I maintain my color at home after my appointment?

- After your appointment, wait at least 48 hours before wetting your hair. Use only the recommended products by your colorist. And lower heat in the shower and with your hot tools.


How often should I get my hair cut?

- For style upkeep every 6 weeks

for dead end maintenance every 8 weeks

to grow your hair longer every 10 weeks


How do I care for my hair in Summer vs Winter?

- For Summer, when you’re outdoors in the sun, apply a heat protectant. Before you get in the pool, wet your hair with non-chlorine water. In the Winter use a scalp scrub and hair mask more often in your routine.


How often should I be shampooing?

- Shampoo your hair every 3+ days. The longer you can go between washes the better for your hair. Make sure to shampoo 2- 3 times in the shower on wash day!


What products work best for curly hair?

- The right cut and product routine for your hair will greatly impact your curls. Talk to your stylist about your curl pattern and hair type to find the right products for you! Curls love moisture & need good holding serum because they don’t like to be bothered through out the day.


What is the difference between dandruff and dry scalp?

- Dry scalp is the issue, dandruff is the symptom. So if you’re experiencing dandruff it’s because you have dry scalp. Try our Scalp Spa line to help with that.


If I use conditioner in the shower, do I still need to use leave-in conditioner?

- Yes! Your shower conditioner gives your hair a thick coat of moisture then gets rinsed out. Leave-in conditioner is diluted moisture with added essential ingredients to keep the moisture locked in your hair all day.


What is the difference between Toner/Gloss/Color service?

- A toning service is the same as a gloss service. Designed to refine hair that's been previously colored or bleached. This is a shorter appointment than a full color service which is designed to completely change the color of your hair or cover greys. 


Do I book a highlight or Balayage?

- A highlighting service will get you all over lighter with a soft dimension from roots through ends. A balayage service puts bolder pops of highlights throughout the hair and mostly the ends, keeping the roots dark but blended. 


What condition should my hair be in for a color service?

- Your hair should be in healthy condition to get colored. If your hair was previously damaged, start with a haircut and treatment service to get your hair prepared for a future color appointment.


If I have oily hair what products should I be using?

- The scalp will produce more oils when its dry or being over washed. try our Scalp Spa line, Maxi wash or Balancing wash.


How often should I use a hair mask?

- For damaged or extreme blondes, use a hair mask every time you wash. Everyone else once every two weeks.


What heat setting to put my hot tools to?

- fine or fragile hair 220

medium hair 300-320

thick frizzy hair 350-375

and always use a heat protectant for all settings.


What is the difference from the products sold in salons vs drug store?

- The same way a home cooked meal is different then fast food. Both get you fed but how will it affect you in the long run… The ingredients in all your products are important and will affect our hair greatly if you’re not using the right stuff.
